As everyone keeps their eye on Tropical Depression Edouard, here in Texas, we’re also seeing bits and pieces of what this tropical depression can do. According to Fox Weather, Tropical Depression Edouard has now covered parts of Southeast Texas with tons of rain and flash flooding, with aggressive rainfall triggering life-threatening flash flood emergencies across areas of Southeast Texas.

Flash Flood Emergency Declared: 70,000 Plunged Into Darkness by Edouard

Winds were rapidly moving at 90 mph, as recorded in Port Arthur, Texas, with two other hurricane-force gusts measured in the area once Edouard made its way onto land. Because of the heavy rain and flash flooding, as of right now, more than 70,000 customers, or Texans, are without power, and the storm is slowly making its way inland. Tyler and Hardin counties have found themselves under flash flood emergencies due to life-threatening flooding as we speak.

Edouard Has Downgraded

Last night at 10 p.m., Edouard was downgraded and considered a tropical depression. However, the National Weather Service said that 10 to 21 inches of rain had fallen across the area earlier today and is now urging people in those particular areas to seek higher ground immediately. The actual tracker has stated that, as of right now, Edouard has continued to stay in the southeastern part of Texas. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the area.
