Sad news to report this afternoon. According to USA TODAY, Maurice White, founder and leader of legendary R&B group Earth Wind and Fire passed away in his sleep on Wednesday (Feb. 3) at the age of 74.

According to his family, White had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease and retired from touring with the group in 1995. White founded EWF in the 1960's after spending time at The Chicago Conservatory of Music as a session drummer. The group went on to sell over 90 MILLION albums worldwide with many mega hits including "September" "Keep Your Head To The Sky", "Boogie Wonderland" and more.
