Killeen’s Public Notice For Wastewater Discharges Has Been Lifted
In Killeen, Texas on June 5 a sewage spill was reported near Reese’s creek. Due to the rupture of the wastewater main pipe and notice went out discussing a sewage leak. Thankfully, a news release was made today by the Texas Commission on Environment Quality also known as TCEQ lifted the precautionary wastewater discharge public notice.

There were a total of 50 property owners, living downstream of the discharge site along Reese‘s Creek, and the city has been sampling and testing the water quality in Reese‘s Creek from upstream of the discharge site to the Lampasas River to make a proper confirmation.
Finally on July 5, the, Texas Commission of Environmental Quality gave the cities approval to lift the banned. The city of Killeen says that the city staff has worked continuously since the discovery, and worked closely with the environment, agencies, and additional contractors throughout the process.
