Killeen Water Alert: Reduce Usage for WCID Project Finish
The City of Killeen has issued a press release notifying residents that Stage Four of its Water Conservation Plan will be in effect from May 27 through May 30. This temporary restriction is part of an ongoing effort to support crucial infrastructure upgrades in the area.

Water Saving Tips for Killeen Residents During Project
The Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (WCID No. 1) is nearing completion of two major projects aimed at improving water reliability and enhancing system resiliency. According to WCID No. 1, the work will require a temporary shutdown of a 48-inch water line to finalize connections to approximately 50,000 feet of new steel pipe, as well as to a newly constructed 3-million-gallon concrete storage tank. This water system serves approximately 265,000 people across Bell County, including the cities of Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, Belton, Nolanville, Killeen, and the Fort Cavazos military reservation, as well as the 439 Water Supply Corporation.
Killeen's Water Supply: Why You Need to Reduce Usage
Residents are reminded that all Stage Two and Three restrictions remain in effect during Stage Four, with additional limitations. Notably, all use of water to wash vehicles—whether privately or at commercial car washes—is strictly prohibited. Irrigation of landscaped areas is also banned. All outdoor water use is prohibited, except for essential needs such as fire suppression and providing water for animals. Refilling pools and using laundromat services will also be prohibited during this time.
