Debbie Nash King hasn't even been mayor in Killeen, Texas for a year, but many residents (myself included) are very impressed not only with her performance, but with the way she carries herself in her position.

Mayor King was first sworn into office back in March of this year, and her performance and accomplishments have gotten the attention of the local branch of Alpha Delta Kappa. They nominate a woman of distinction every two years, and our beloved mayor was selected this year.

Mayor Nash definitely had this win in the bag. She received the majority vote from five chapters for her nomination and was guaranteed to win. She totally deserves it, too.

We appreciate the mayor making us proud, and continuing to be the best she can be for our city - our home.

Mayor King says she feels honored to be considered for this prestigious award, and she will try to continue to be a role model for women throughout Central Texas. I don’t see that being a problem with this amazing individual here. Keep shining, Madam Mayor!
