Good News – The Boil Water Notice for Killeen, Texas Has Been Lifted
I know the boiling water alerts have been extremely stressful and frustrating in Killeen, Texas, but I am very happy to announce that the notice has been lifted for properties on Tudor and Whitmire Drive, which are on the north side of Killeen.
HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN IN KILLEEN
Due to a break in a waterline on June 28, city crews had to isolate that particular line and remain on site until the repairs were taken care of properly and water services could be restored.
Residents had been advised to boil their water before it was consumed by people or pets, but now the order has been lifted. That's one less stressful thing for folks in these neighborhoods to worry about right now.
MAKE SURE TO TAKE THE BOIL WATER NOTICES SERIOUSLY
I would like to thank the City of Killeen for always being on top of these contaminations when it comes to water. I know that it can be very frustrating to have to boil your water, but we do this to say safe. Anytime there is a boiling water notice, I suggest all of Central Texas takes it very seriously because you could end up either sick or worse.
Remember: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality recommends brining your water to a vigorous boil for at least two minutes when your area is under a boil notice. Whether it's E. coli, high turbidity, or a problem with pressure or storage, you've got to be mindful of those orders and keep your family and pets safe.
