Now that spring break is starting in Central Texas, families are looking for the best places to take their children in Killeen. Many people don’t want to go to the lakes, hike, or do anything outdoors, so we need to meet in the middle and ensure the city offers places our residents will enjoy with air conditioning. And if I’m being honest, with the way the Texas heat can be, I totally understand.

A place many residents enjoyed going to was Mr. Gatti’s, but recently we noticed that the building has been closed. This definitely put the city in a slight uproar, because people love Mr. Gatti’s—not just for the fun games, but also for its well-known salad bar and delicious pizza.

I tried to contact our city officials, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get an answer back on why exactly the establishment closed. That doesn’t mean we won’t know something soon enough. As of right now, a temporary closing sign is posted on the building, but something tells me this will be an updated story very soon.

Until we know exactly what’s going on with Mr. Gatti’s, there are still other things you can definitely do in the city that will keep you and your children indoors and having fun. I just know a lot of us will miss that delicious salad bar.
