Killeen Police Respond to Fatal Crash on Hwy 95

On Saturday evening a wreck between a silver sedan and a gray SUV resulted in the death of a 21-year-old.

press release from the Killeen Police Department states that officers responded to a 911 call about a major accident at the intersection of State Hwy 195 and Chaparral Road at approximately 11:10 pm.

Patrick Lee Stephens, the driver of a 2015 Hyundai Elantra was attempting to take a left turn onto southbound 195 when a gray 2020 Nissan Armada traveling northbound on Hwy 195 ran the red light hitting the left side of the Hyundai.

Patrick Lee Stephens was pronounced death at the scene of the accident by Justice of the Peace Daryl Peters at 11:58 p.m.The passenger of the Hyundai was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Currently the unnamed passenger has been transported to Baylor Scott & White in Temple.

The three occupants of the Nissan Armada received minor injuries.

An autopsy from the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas has been ordered for Stephens. Currently the KPD Traffic Unit is investigating this fatal incident.
