
KFC Bids Farewell to Kentucky, Heads to Texas
Kentucky Fried Chicken is saying goodbye to its home state of Kentucky and hello to the great state of Texas. The famous chicken chain, known for its secret blend of herbs and spices, announced, according to BBC, that it will be relocating its U.S. headquarters from Kentucky to Texas. This announcement came directly from the company's owner. KFC's office will be leaving Louisville for Plano, Texas, though some operations, including the KFC Foundation, will remain in Kentucky.

While this news is exciting for many KFC fans in Texas, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is not pleased with the decision. The governor expressed his disappointment, stating, “I am disappointed by the decision and believe the company’s founder would be too." He went on to explain that it is not uncommon for companies to relocate to Texas due to its lower taxes and business-friendly policies. Governor Beshear further emphasized that KFC’s name, which starts with "Kentucky," has long marketed the state's heritage and culture through its brand, which is true.
KFC Shifts Gears, Moving Headquarters from Kentucky to Texas
Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC, began selling chicken at a service station in Corbin, Kentucky and eventually grew the business into a global empire with 24,000 locations across 145 countries and territories.
