The federal government is launching a massive take over of every mobile phone in the state of Texas on Wednesday October 4th, 2023, and there is nothing you can do about it. Undoubtedly, there will be some people who will copy and paste some kind of declaration to their Facebook page saying something like they do not authorize any unwanted or unknowing participation in blah, blah, blah, but none of that will be able to stop FEMA from doing exactly what they are planning.

You may notice in your settings that your phone has some toggle switches that let you opt in and out of alerts like AMBER or National Weather Service, but you do not have any say whatsoever in what is about to happen on Wednesday. The purpose for the federal government contacting every cellphone simultaneously is being presented as a way of quickly notifying the whole country in the event of a massive national emergency.

How can you avoid your cellphone being overtaken by the federal government?

There are really only 2 ways to to prevent your phone going off between 2:20 ET and 2:50 tomorrow. One way is to make sure your phone is switched completely off because even if it is receiving a signal from a participating service provider, you will be alerted.

The only other way your phone will not be contacted is if there is an actual emergency tomorrow, and in that case the test will be moved to the same time next Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
