
Harker Heights Launches Emergency Warming Station For Residents
As temperatures begin to drop, Texans are preparing for a possible winter storm expected to move into the area later tonight. According to KCENT, the City of Harker Heights announced it will open a warming center at VFW Post 3892.

Stay Warm Harker Heights: Emergency Center Details Inside
City officials stated the facility will provide seating, snacks, and drinks in a warm environment to help residents stay safe during the cold weather. However, beds and shower facilities will not be available. Criminal activity, weapons, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited at the center, and pets must be kept in a crate, which attendees are asked to provide.
What Time Will The Warming Centers Close?
The warming center opened at 7 p.m. A closing date and time have not yet been determined, as city officials say it will remain open until it is reasonable to close the winter warming center.
