Harker Heights “I Love My Parks” Day This Saturday
We all need to get outside more often and enjoy our beautiful parks here in Central Texas. Granted, our winter cold temps haven't helped, but we can get our parks ready for the warmer temps ahead and the Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department are calling on you to help.
This Saturday, January 11th, The City of Harker Heights will have its first ever "I Love My Parks" Day beginning at 9:00 AM at Purser Park. This event is for volunteers to assist in the beautification of our parks. They will assist in planting shrubs/trees/flowers, painting handrails, pulling weeds, picking up trash and more.
Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt (adult sizes only) and refreshments will be served. Be sure to bring a water bottle and wear work clothing, close-toed shoes, and dress warm.
This is also a great opportunity to get your group or organization involved in doing something great in our community. If you would like to volunteer, you can RSVP yourself and your group by calling The Harker Heights Parks and Recreation Department at 254-953-5657.
Volunteers who RSVP by Jan. 9th will receive a "I Love My Parks Day" Volunteer Shirt on Saturday so take action now and show your park some love this weekend!
