H-E-B's annual "Feast of Sharing" will send out 340,000 meals across Texas and Mexico in November and December.

The top Texas grocery chain reports that this year's Feast of Sharing will not be like years past. There will be no in-person dinner events and volunteer opportunities. Instead, H-E-B will be donating money and food to 18 food banks throughout Texas and Mexico, plus over 40 agencies.

The meals being delivered include the signature H-E-B Meal Simple holiday version which includes roasted turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes and garlic butter.

Group Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs, Winell Herron, says,  “A celebration we look forward to each and every year, the H-E-B Feast of Sharing gives us the opportunity to give back and ring in the holidays with our neighbors. Thanks to our partnerships with deeply dedicated nonprofits, we’re able to safely continue this tradition for families across Texas and Mexico.”

H-E-B plans to continue their in-person dinners in 2021.

H-E-B Feast of Sharing started in 1989 and serves as part of their Hunger Relief Program. H-E-B's Hunger Relief Program started in 1982 and has donated more that 1 billion pounds of food to 5,500 non-profit organizations in both Texas and Mexico.

They're encouraging anyone who'd usually volunteer their time for the Feast of Sharing to look into volunteering with Feeding Texas. You can find information on how to do that here.

Just a reminder: The Central Texas Food Bank will host a free food distribution for people in need in Waco and Temple the first week of November. More information on participating can be found here.
