With more reports of COVID-19 cases throughout Central Texas, the city of Killeen is giving residents another opportunity to get tested this week.

We received information from Killeen Communications Executive Director Hilary Shine that Killeen will host a COVID-19 state mobile testing site Tuesday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center, 3601 S. WS Young Drive.

Tests are free and can be set up by appointment or walk-in for those with qualifying symptoms.

To be eligible for a free COVID-19 test, a person should be exhibiting one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Fever and/or chills
  • Cough (dry or productive)
  • Fatigue
  • Body aches/muscle or joint pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Headaches
  • Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
  • Nasal congestion
  • Loss of taste and/or smell

Appointments can be made by calling 512-883-2400 or online at https://txcovidtest.org. Patients will have to provide personal contact information and answer a series of questions to determine eligibility. All individuals at the mobile testing site must wear a mask including patients, passengers and personnel.
