Festive Fall Fun: Autumn At The Arboretum Is Finally Back

The most wonderful time of the year has arrived, and no we're not talking about winter!

Each year, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens hosts a pumpkin festival called Autumn at the Arboretum with a different annual theme. This year's theme is "Bugtopia" and marks the 16th annual festival.

This year's signature display will come alive with larger-than-life insect topiaries, fascinatingly bugged-out pumpkin houses, and even a maze for younger visitors. You can visit the festival from September 18 to Oct. 31, 2021. Tickets are available for purchase by following this link.

Besides viewing these amazing works of art, there're also several different activities to participate in during the season. Event activities include:

The festival also displays over 150,000 autumn flowers adorned with fun fall accents like pumpkins, gourds, and squash all from Floydada, Texas.

Autumn at the Arboretum is home to the Pumpkin Village, which features four 20-foot-tall decorated pumpkin houses and creative displays fashioned from more than 90,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash. The 1-acre large Pumpkin Village takes about 21 days for 35 workers to build.

It's quite literally a pumpkin wonderland.

Of course, on the weekend of Halloween is when things really get amped up! On October 30 and 31st, Autumn at the Arboretum will feature trick-or-treating throughout the garden, pumpkin decorating, body art painting, a petting zoo, and live music on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn.

Don't forget to wear your costumes so you can participate in the Dress Like a Bug contest on Saturday and Sunday for your chance to win tickets to Holiday at the Arboretum, which is the winter edition of Autumn at the Arboretum.
