Family Dollar To Close Nearly 400 Stores

We've seen lots of Family Dollar stores pop up all over the area in the past few years, but now we could see a bunch of them closing soon after today's news.

According to CNN, the parent company of Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, announced that they will be closing 390 stores this year while re-branding some locations as Dollar Tree stores. They will also renovate other locations with $1 Dollar Tree merchandise.

Dollar Tree brought the Family Dollar brand in 2015, but Family Dollar has struggled in sales recently and investors have been pushing Dollar Tree to do something about it.
