Numerous Waco Fire Department trucks responded to the scene of a early morning fire in Waco.

KWTX's Christy Soto reported that the flames were erupting from the Sonoco food packaging plant on Central Texas Expressway in Waco. All of the employees of the plant were evacuated, and firefighters went inside to investigate.

Fire crews discovered that a machine that makes the packaging at the plant had a malfunction, and that's what caused the fire.

Crews were able to put the fire out quickly. Around 20 employees were on the scene when the fire took place, but thankfully no one was injured.

Crews were on the scene for hours helping with ventilation, and the costs of the damages are currently unknown.

Thanks to the fire crews out there saving lives at all hours of the day and night. We appreciate you!
