A company that was started here in Texas, Dickies, will no longer be in the Lone Star State. But where is the company headed? Here's what is known.

When Was Dickies Founded And Why Is It Leaving Texas?

As revealed by the company's website, Dickie's became a company in 1922.  C.N. Williamson and E.E. “Colonel” Dickie were the founders. Since that time, the company's headquarters has been based right here in the Lone Star State, specifically Fort Worth.

The winds of change started to blow in 2017. Reported by WFAA, Dickies was purchased by VF Corporation. VF also holds Timberland, The North Face, and Vans under their umbrella. However, this purchase resulted in a massive change, specifically for Dickies.

Last year, WFAA reported Dickies was leaving the state of Texas. But where are they going, and how will it affect the workers in the company?

With Dickies Moving Headquarters, What Changes Will Happen?

WFAA revealed that Dickies will be moving to Costa Mesa, California. Per VF Corporation themselves:

“While this move will support the revitalization of the Dickies brand, it will impact a significant number of positions held by our Dickies associates at the Fort Worth headquarters. These kinds of decisions are never made lightly...We are deeply grateful for our Dickies associates’ dedication and hard work and want to recognize the camaraderie and commitment they have shown to the brand.”

In total, 125 workers will no longer be with the company due to the move. Which workers will be let go from the company has not been stated. As this is a developing story, we will have more information if becomes available.
