Delta Air Lines Drops Another Austin Route, This Time to Midland
The Austin airport is experiencing a lot of growth at the time of writing. Not only is construction going on, but more and more flights are being added for travelers to go to. However, not all flights continue on forever.
Which Airline Is Cancelling A Flight From Austin To Another Destination?
Per KXAN, the airline cancelling a flight in Austin is none other than Delta Air Lines. But what is the destination that Delta passengers will no longer be able to go to? It is none other than Midland.
The flight was first brought to the airport in 2024 during the month of April. Now, in November of 2025, Midland will no longer be an option for Delta to fly to, at least out of Austin. Southwest Airlines, at the time of writing, will be the only airline still flying to Midland following the discontinuation.

But what led to the cancellation of the route?
Did Delta Give A Reason For The Cancellation?
While a specific reason hasn't been given, a person representing Delta gave a statement to KXAN, saying the airline “[adapts] our schedule to align with customer demand.” But, believe it or not, another route from Austin was cancelled by Delta in 2025 as well.
The previous route taken off the schedule was Harlingen, which was removed two months ago in June. But for Delta, more routes are still coming despite the cancellation. More flights to different, unknown at the time of writing, destinations are set to be revealed in 2026.
Only time will tell where Delta is going to take passengers to and from the Austin airport.
