Flying in the state of Texas can sometimes be a little bit overwhelming. One of the biggest stresses is none other than going through security. But for those who are set to fly soon, a new item has been banned from going through the dreaded security line.

What Is Currently Banned Going Through Airport Security?

We've all had that moment in life where we're going through the airport metal detector and it goes off. We feel embarrassed of course, and have to make our way back to be checked for the object that set off the alarm. However, that person wouldn't be the first to set it off ever, so there's no need to worry.

There's plenty of items that one can't bring through the security line. The Transportation Security Administration has a full list of what one can and can't bring through the scanners. However, the only constant in life is change, and that includes the item list.

As it turns out, a new item has been added to list, so travelers should be aware and take precautions.

What Is The Newly Banned Item That Can't Go Through Airport Security?

According to TSA, a certain type of hair curler isn't allowed to be in one's checked bag. Per the organization's wording:

"Hair curlers (curling irons) containing a hydrocarbon gas such as butane, no more than one per person, in carry-on baggage only. The safety cover must be securely fitted over the heating element. Gas refills for such curlers are not permitted in carry-on or checked baggage."

So, if you're flying soon, remember to make sure that you comply with regulations!
