Ciara Postpones Fort Hood Show Over Coronavirus Concerns
Fears over the coronavirus have caused multiple shows and events to be cancelled or postponed, including the annual SXSW Festival in Austin. Those fears and precautions have caused a show scheduled for Central Texas to be postponed as well.
According to Billboard Magazine and other reports, Grammy Award winner Ciara, who was set to perform for the grand opening of the USO Center on Fort Hood on March 19th, has postponed her upcoming performance due to coronavirus concerns.
The 34 year old singer is pregnant, and in a statement to the Associated Press said that her doctors made the recommendation to limit her travel and appearances due to the virus.
With the continued spread of the coronavirus throughout the U.S., as a pregnant woman, my doctors have advised me to limit travel and large group gatherings...I am disappointed I won’t be able to return this month to the place where I was born, Ft. Hood Texas, and put on the amazing show we had planned. I urge everyone to be diligent in taking steps to stay healthy and safe. - Statement from Ciara via AP
The grand opening of the Fort Hood USO is reportedly being rescheduled for this summer. Ciara's concert will reportedly take place later this year.
