CenTex CBD And Its History In Belton, Texas
According to KVUE, CenTex CBD has been around in the Central Texas area for seven years, since 2018. Ran by Judy Corrigan, it has seen success over its time in business due to the research Corrigan did about CBD. It was then, following her researc, that Corrigan realized a store was needed:
"Not too long after that I decided that we needed a place in the community to learn about it and to have a place for quality products."

But, worries about the business started at end of 2024, when discussions about the banning of CBD began.
What Was The Decision To Do With CenTex CBD?
Corrigan decided, following a lot of thought, to close the store. Per Corrigan:
"When things are in limbo, you don't know how much to order...Once your inventory starts to dwindle down, it's kind of hard to catch up."
However, there was more to final decision about closing the business forever. In Corrigan's own words:
"It's not just the market uncertainty, it's the toxic political climate that we find ourselves in and there just comes a time when you have to decide what your priorities are and that's not my priority to wait around and see what the legislators do."
While Corrigan isn't thrilled to close the business, she also sees the positives. She's looking forward to, according to KVUE, enjoying time with her husband. It remains to be seen what happens with CBD in Texas.
