
Belton PD Identifies Driver In Shocking House-Crash Investigation
According to FOX 44, a terrible crash took place in Belton, Texas, where a vehicle drove through a woman’s home. Unfortunately, she had to be transported to the hospital due to her injuries. At first, authorities were unsure who was responsible for the crash, but DPS has now stated that someone is in custody after failing a sobriety test.

What To Know About The Man Identified In The Local House Crash
Michael Curtis Gaines of Belton, Texas, was identified as the driver of a 2024 Chevy Silverado that was traveling northbound on Waterworks Road before leaving the roadway. Officials stated that Gaines re-entered the roadway, crossed over, and then crashed into the home. Authorities also said that he attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle afterward.
Inside the home was a woman who had no idea what the next few moments were going to bring. She had to be extracted by fire personnel and sustained serious injuries. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White for treatment. After failing the sobriety test, Gaines was taken into custody and is now facing additional charges that are pending through the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.
