Big Ced’s Talk About it Tuesday: Here’s What’s Going On
Hello, my fellow Texans. I do a segment on my show called "Talk About it Tuesday," where we talk about it whatever you like.
Today let's talk about it. I go to few sources to see what is going on in the world. One of them, unfortunately, is Facebook (I know we can't get away from it). Some other sources are the local news channels and smart news app.
Here are the top articles on smart news I've had my eye on:
- It's been a year since the death of Ahmaud Arbery, and the case is still ongoing. Ahmuad's Mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, plans on celebrating his life instead of dwelling on how he was chased down and shot to death near his Brunswick, GA home. My heart goes out to Ahmaud's family as they deal with his death. His life shouldn't have been taken at a young age like that.
- Police arrested an 18-year-old African American male walking home from work at Walmart in Plano, Texas on Feb 16th. The police stated they arrested the young man because he was walking in the street instead of walking on the icy sidewalk. Because of Goerge Floyd's fatal experience with officers, the young teen was leery of interacting with police. Even though charges are dropped now, I feel like the officers should have offered help instead, especially since he was out in that extreme weather walking home.
- Lakeith Stanfield calls Charlamagne Tha God ' A lame' After the radio host says the actor 'was born to play an FBI Informant'. I must admit I was mad at Lakeith's role as William O'Neal, an FBI informant against the Black Panther party chapter in Chicago, in the movie Judas and the Black Messia, but understand he's playing a character to tell us a story.
Big shout-out to Our digital managing editor Aaron Savage and the rest of the Townsquare Media staff for keeping everyone informed during and after our winter storm. Be sure to check me out Monday through Friday Noon till 3p, the Friday night dance party from 7p to Midnight, and Saturdays 3p to 7p.
Until next time, peace. ✌
