BEWARE: FDA Investigates 2 Dangerous Recent Outbreaks In Texas
According to Food Safety News, Texas is being warned about two airborne outbreaks being properly investigated by the FDA, also known as the Food and Drug Administration. Both outbreaks are considered foodborne illnesses that are very dangerous.
WHAT ARE THESE DANGEROUS OUTBREAKS HERE IN TEXAS?
The outbreak of Salmonella Newport, one of the infections identified is a serovar of Salmonella enterica they can cause people and animal infections, and even though it is widespread in the United States, Salmonella Newport is known for being resilient to several drugs. Diarrhea, fever, nausea, chills, headaches, blood in the stool, and stomach cramps are widespread symptoms of, this infection that can last for about six hours up to six days.
HOW ARE TEXANS GETTING SICK OF THE OUTBREAK?
Ground beef, red onions, and traveling to Mexico are also ways to receive a very dangerous infection. Cyclospora cayetanensis is the second outbreak and it is an intestinal illness that’s caused by microscopic, parasites. Berries, mixed salad, fruit, mixes, carrots, and mangoes are some vegetables and fruits where it is common to find Cyclospora cayetanensis. Feeling bloated, gas increasing even having flu symptoms could be Cyclospora cayetanensis especially if you have watery, diarrhea, sometimes explosive, or frequent, loss of appetite, rapid weight, loss, nausea, low-grade fever, vomiting, muscle aches, weight, loss, headaches, and even stomach cramps.
