A Belton New Tech student has taken first place at the 2020 National History Day Competition.

According to the press release from Baylor Media Communications, projects from students here in Central Texas, whose work picked up wins at the Heart of Texas Regional History Fair and at Texas History Day in April, took part in the 2020 virtual National History Day competition.

The event took place June 14-20, and only projects from 10 students had a chance to qualify for the finals round in their category.  Five students from Central Texas schools participated in the competition.

According to the press release  "Aditi Bhat from Belton New Tech @ Waskow won first place in Senior Individual Website for her entry “Deeds Not Words”: The Suffragettes, Women Breaking Barriers. All first-place entries are sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), also earning Bhat the designation of NEH Scholar."

It's awesome to see our students here in Central Texas shine bright in the academically on a national level.  Keep up the great work and we're proud of you!
