A child in Belton, Texas was harmed badly last year when they closed a sunroof onto their own neck. Here's what is known at the time of writing, as well as the status of the child's health.

What Were The Details Of The Situation?

Per the City Of Belton, the incident happened on October 10, 2024. Police in Belton were alerted to an issue involving a child at an unnamed restaurant, located at the 2800 block of North Loop 121. Initial reports revealed that the child was unable to breathe and not conscious.

When law enforcement made it to the eatery, they found workers of the establishment attempting to resuscitate the young child. After he was discovered not responsive, the three year old child was quickly taken to McClane Children’s Hospital, with injuries deemed life threatening. Thankfully, the child recovered.

How Did This Happen And Were Charges Filed Against The Parent?

According to City of Belton, the mother, identified as Angela Celeste Moreno, left both her children, three years old and one year old, in the car while she needed to go into the restaurant to obtain a DoorDash order that she was going to deliver. In the ten minutes she was inside the business, the three year old was looking out the sunroof, but unintentionally closed the sunroof on their neck.

On March 26th, 2025, 5 months after the incident, Moreno was placed under arrest for the charge of injury to a child. This occurred following inquires conducted by detectives in Bell County.
