Alex Reich, the new Public Information Officer for Bell County, was a news anchor in Oklahoma City last year when an exchange with her co-anchor took a hard, racist turn for the worst.

As you can see, she apologized (because she had to), but people are upset she was selected for the position in Bell County in the first place.

According to KCEN-TV, Bell County Commissioners claim they had no idea the video existed and that Alex Housden never mentioned it while interviewing for the position.

First of all... especially in these racially sensitive times, I find it highly irresponsible for a County Office to make such a dumb mistake.

A couple of questions I have:

What happened to doing background checks and Google searches on people? You know, the whole vetting process? That was overlooked on this one, huh?

Although she has two last names (we tend to have aliases in broadcasting), was she hired and her employer didn't care what she did, or did research on her under the name she provided not bring up any red flags? We need answers!

The NAACP Killeen Branch is demanding she resign.

We'll keep you posted!
