Leon Bridges will take his "Gold-Diggers Sound Tour" to Austin.

Bridges will be joined by fellow Texas singer Abraham Alexander on Sunday, September 12 at Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater.

Stubb's will start selling tickets for the Austin show on Tuesday, July 27.

A total of three Texas tour dates have been confirmed (so far) in support of Bridges' third studio album, Gold-Diggers Sound, due out Friday, July 23.

On Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11, he will play San Antonio's Aztec Theatre and The HiFi Dallas, a Mark Cuban-owned music venue opening in North Texas.

As part of the tour, Bridges will play small- to mid-sized venues, calling each show an “immersive experience in the intimate rooms where it all began.” The album is named after Gold Diggers, a Los Angeles hotel, bar, and recording studio.

Todd Michael Bridges was born on July 13, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia. Bridges' family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where they lived for a year before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, where he grew up.

Bridges began playing guitar by playing simple chords to accompany his lyrics.  During his time working at Del Frisco's Grille in Fort Worth, he played countless open-mics until Columbia Records signed him in December 2014. His style was defined by the song "Lisa Sawyer," about his mother's conversion.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Leon Bridges perform in Austin.

I even got to hang out with him at a recording studio that Gary Clark Jr rented out for an event during SXSW.

Later, I got invited to a Leon Bridges album listening event for his album "Good Thing" in 2018.

I haven't had a chance to listen to his new album Gold Diggers. However, I am sure it will be a good solid album, and I look forward to seeing him live in concert on Sept 12th.

Hopefully I will get to hang out with him before or after the concert. Stay tuned!
