Austin Urban Music Festival Postponed Due To Coronavirus
Concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus has caused another major event in Austin to be postponed.
According to a post on their Facebook page on Wednesday morning, the organizers of the annual Austin Urban Music Festival announced that the festival will be postponed until a later date.
Citing the City Of Austin and Travis County's "state of disaster" declaration which prohibits mass gathering events with 2,500 or more attendees until May, the festival says that all tickets purchased will be honored on the rescheduled dates.
This year's festival was set to take place on March 27th and 28th at Auditorium Shores featuring top national R&B and hip hop acts such as Peabo Bryson, Con Funk Shun, Slick Rick and Naughty By Nature as well as local favorites Distinguished Soundz, Don Diego and Alesia Lani.
The postponement comes just days after SXSW and other major spring events have been cancelled or postponed in Central Texas and across the country as communities grapple with how to stop the virus from spreading in public areas.
