A Harker Heights woman was charged with throwing her roommate out at gunpoint.
A 29-year-old Harker Heights woman is being held under a $100,000 bond for allegedly throwing her roommate out of their home with a gun.
Lawrence Stewart, a spokesman for the Harker Heights Police Department, said officers were called to a home in the 600 block of Frontier Trail at 1:02 p.m. Saturday on a report of a disturbance between roommates.
They found that the pair had been involved in an argument that escalated with one of the roommates, identified as Alicia Ann Uribe, wanting her roommate to leave.
Officers later determined that the roommate had been forced to leave the apartment with a gun and verbal threats of bodily harm if she did not.
They took Uribe into custody on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported her to the Bell County Jail.
There were no injuries to the roommate.
This story can be tricky because we can only assume that both parties' names were on the lease.
I had countless roommates; some were good roommates, and some were not so good but never had resulted in forcing them out of our living space.
I would wait until the lease is up and vow never to have them as a roommate again.
I have heard some wild stories of roommates living with each other and what they did to each other.
If you will stay with someone, make sure that person is a good fit to be your roommate.
I'm not saying do an all-out investigation on that person but use your better judgment.
