Coming off the rave reviews from The Clark Sisters biopic, Lifetime is continuing to make up for those disastrous Whitney Houston and Aaliyah biopics with what looks to be another good one soon about hip hop's first ladies Salt N Pepa.

Lifetime dropped the trailer right after The Clark Sisters film debuted and social media is already buzzing about it. The 3 hour miniseries will look at the legendary group’s rise to fame and personal struggles while becoming the first female platinum hip hop group.

The film stars GG Townson as Cheryl “Salt” James, Laila Odom as Sandra “Pepa” Denton, and Monique Paul as Deidra “DJ Spinderella” Roper. Veteran director Mario Van Peebles will be directing the project along with Salt N Pepa and Queen Latifah serving as executive producers among others.

Unfortunately, there's still some real life drama going on because DJ Spinderella, who will be depicted in the movie, is not involved in the project because she is currently suing her former group members for unpaid royalties.

Be on the lookout for it soon.
