Killeen, Texas Has a New Go To Spot For Delicious Chicken And Waffles
Any other day when you drive on Stan Schlueter past the CEFCO in Killeen, Texas you would think to yourself that it’s just a normal gas station where people come to get some lottery tickets and a pack of smokes. But Sunday after church, a lot of families stop in for the Waffle Den, and traffic is sometimes wrapped around the bock people waiting to get some of that delicious food.
This gem is really hiding in plain sight, because it is on the main road in Killeen. However, you really have to be a native of the city to know how important Waffle Den is to the community.
BEST WAFFLE IN THE CITY
Waffle Den is located at 4011 E. Stan Schluter, and it’s open Wednesday through Sunday. The owner, Ben, didn’t know exactly how popular the waffles were going to be. Now people come from all over to try these amazing, fluffy, and delicious waffles. But what I love most about Waffle Den is there are so many different flavors of waffles you can choose from. The menu boasts over 100 flavors, and you can also buy the batter to make whatever waffle you love the most in the stores.
THE HIDDEN SUNDAY GEM
When Mr. Ben opened up Waffle Den at the end of 2012, I’m pretty sure he never thought this would be the hidden gem that Central Texas treasures so much. Hopefully you get a chance to try his amazing waffles and chicken, and if you go on a Sunday you better get there before I do!
