Affidavit Reveal The Actions Of Latavia Sanders In Waco
Per KWTX, law enforcement was alerted to a situation at the 400 block of Owen Lane, where the apartment in question was located on August 15th, 2025. The call, identified as a "domestic disturbance," brought officers out. When they arrived, they discovered the son of Latavia Sanders outside of the apartment.
Police talked to the son, unidentified at the time of writing, and revealed that his mother was inside the place of residence. Officers then went to the unit, knocked on the door and questioned Sanders. Sanders then proceeded to tell officers she "didn’t want to talk, that her son needed to leave and not come back, and that she didn’t care what happened to him because he was being disrespectful."

But the police and Sanders were not done interacting following the initial conversation.
What Else Happened After Police Made Contact With Sanders?
Law enforcement tried to a possible answer to the situation at hand, but Sanders still refused to bring her son back into the apartment. At one point, Sanders was quoted as saying she'd “kill herself than to have to take care of him,” in regards to her son.
Sanders, at one point, proceeded to lock the place of residence and walk away, saying she'd call medical services to "get away from her son." Officers told her she could go to the hospital, but she'd need to let her son back into the apartment, otherwise she'd be arrested for child endangerment.
Sanders once again did not comply with the officers, which led to her being taken into custody. Law enforcement was also able to get the keys to the apartment and let the son back into the living quarters.
At the time of writing, Sanders faces the charge of abandonment or endangerment of a child with intent, knowledge, recklessness or criminal negligence. As this is developing story, we will have more information when available.
