Last year that 20/20 episode brought a lot of things to light about that base. Vanessa Guillen had been stationed at Fort Hood and luckily had her family about 3 hours away. If you saw Vanessa's story last year, then you remember the other soldier they found that had been missing before Vanessa Guillen was.

While on the hunt for Vanessa Guillen, they managed to find another soldier Gregory Morales, who had been missing longer than her. Gregory Morales had been missing a year prior to Vanessa and was listed as a deserter.

It was so sad because Gregory Morales was considered AWOL which definitely wasn't the case. Then, as time went by a third soldier had gone missing on August 21, 2020, by the name of Elder Fernandes. Now for Elder Fernandez's case, he wasn't murdered but did also mention he was a victim of unwanted sexual contact according to Stars and Stripes.

All those horrible situations that happened at Fort Hood sure put the spotlight on that base. Vanessa Guillen's fiancee Juan Cruz will speak out on his first-ever television interview on 20/20. Although in the preview Juan Cruz brought up a damn good point that has you wondering the same thing.

He is concerned about how the military protects us but wonders who is protecting them back. Juan Cruz hopes after this mishap that the military will change certain things about how they operate according to People. You won't want to miss out on Abc's 20/20 special that will air this Friday, June 11 at 8 pm.
