University of Texas System Joins Texas A&M in Drag Show Ban
The University of Texas has now made the decision to ban drag shows from the school's campus. Here's what is known that led to the disallowment of the event.
Where Did The Ban Began In Texas?
Earlier in the month of March, Texas A&M made the decision to ban drag shows from their campus and all campuses that are affiliated with Texas A&M. At the time, a portion of the statement about the ban said the following:
...These events often involve unwelcome and objectively offensive conduct based on sex for many members of the respective communities of the universities, particularly when they involve the mockery or objectification of women.”

This was met from opposition from many, but now another school in the state of Texas has joined A&M in stopping drag shows outright.
Why Is The University Of Texas Is Stopping Drag Shows On Their Campus?
Per Chron, the decision was made on Friday, March 15th. Kevin P. Eltife, UT Board of Regents Chairman, told Chron:
"Our public university facilities, supported by taxpayers, will not serve as venues for drag shows. Our institutions will not sponsor them. If the Board of Regents needs to take further action to make this clear, we will do so,"
A further statement from Eltife revealed that "All activities at UT institutions are expected to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and executive orders, including any restrictions on the use of public funds."
At the time of writing, no legal actions have been filed to stop the ban. As this is developing story, we will have more information if it becomes available.
