The city of Waco, Texas mourns the loss of a brave and noble officer of the Waco Police Department, Marshall Hobbs, according to KCENT. Marshall Hobbs was a native Texan and served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, now known as Fort Cavazos. He was an E5 sergeant from 2016 to 2021. In January 2021, Marshall Hobbs joined the Waco Police Department as a police recruit and became a patrol officer after completing the 78th Police Academy, according to the department.

Known for his sharp wit, intelligence, and unwavering dependability, he could always be counted on in times of need. He was an exceptional officer who genuinely cared for everyone he encountered. Hobbs also received a life-saving and a merit unit award during his time at the Waco Police Department.
