According to The Washington Post, a tornado outbreak is expected to move toward the Upper Midwest, bringing a serious risk of strong, long-track tornadoes across the region. Recently, the Storm Prediction Center reported that the area is under a Level 4 out of 5 moderate-severe weather risk, with the event likely peaking on Monday. However, storms are also expected to continue into Tuesday.

The Storm Prediction Center stated that large to very large hail is expected, along with damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and frequent lightning associated with intense thunderstorms. This severe weather could affect areas from New York to northern Arkansas, stretch westward across Oklahoma, and then move south into North Texas.

There is also a possibility of widespread thunderstorms producing wind gusts between 62 and 75 mph, potentially pushing east along the northern Texas border. On Tuesday and Wednesday, a cold front may move through, triggering more severe storms from New York down to Texas. Texans are advised to prepare appropriately for the possibility of severe weather across the state.
