Spinning the classics on Throwback Sunday with Melz and JoJo Paul here's a classic we remember! After David Ruffin left the group in 1968, the group brought on Dennis Edwards to take the lead and The Temptations scored their first hit with "Cloud 9". It was Motown's FIRST ever Grammy win (Can you believe that?) influenced by Sly & The Family Stone's psychedelic sound marked a drastic change for The Temptations. Motown's executives were not happy with the sound initially citing the group's "doo-wop" style but the style of music was changing at this time and The Tempts had to get with the times or get left behind.
