The month of August was recognized as breast-feeding awareness month here in Texas and as a mother myself, I understand why breast-feeding definitely plays an important part when it comes to our babies. According to KWTX  Fort Cavazos opened a depot that will collect and distribute breastmilk to mothers, who are expecting and new moms as well.

The donated breast milk can be found and disputed through the Milk Bank of Austin. Kim Updegrove says Fort Cavazos is definitely setting the perfect example for other military posts throughout the country when it comes to showing the support of military families and their children which I can totally agree with. Kim Updegrove is the Executive Director of the Milk Bank of Austin and says this breastfeeding depot definitely plays a big part when it comes to preterm infants, that need to avoid formula.

A SAFER WAY FOR INFANTS TO RECEIVE MILK!

A lot of times doctors encourage soon-to-be mothers and mothers to breast-feed due to the fact that sometimes formula-based milk can have certain risks that we would want all of our children to avoid. This is for the community here in Central, Texas and Executive Director of the Milk Bank of Austin Updegrove says she encourages residents near the military base to utilize the depot to help infants across the country. Let’s make it safer and more natural for babies here in Texas.
