Authorities are hoping that by releasing photos of his tattoos posted on social media, Hogan will be captured sooner rather than later. According to KWTX, the escaped inmate has ties to both McGregor and Gatesville, Texas.

Brandon Wayne Hogan's Crimes

KWTX reports that Hogan was on a prison crew doing yard work at Seton Cemetery when he escaped custody last month. He was charged with theft of a firearm, burglary of a habitation, assault of a family member, and criminal mischief.

A few days before he escaped from the work crew, Hogan learned about additional charges filed against him for being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to KWTX, because of these extra charges, Hogan became very “distraught”.

Earlier this month, KWTX reported that Coryell County Sheriff Scott Williams was encouraging anyone in Central Texas with doorbell cams and security cameras to double-check their footage, just in case Hogan shows up on any area videos.

Texas Crime Stoppers

Hogan is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, and has multiple tattoos on his chest, right shoulder, and both arms. He is considered dangerous with violent tendencies, and if you see him, do not approach or engage him.

Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Hogan's arrest.

The Texas Crime Stoppers hotline is open 24 hours a day at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), or submit a tip online here.

Most of these laws are just funny now, but at one time, there was a valid (or at least somewhat valid) reason for them to exist.

Texas has plenty of strange rules and regulations that you could technically be prosecuted for if you violate them, since they've never been amended. Some of these are only for specific cities and not state-wide, but all of them are pretty odd!

Let's take a look at 10 of the weirdest ones in the Lone Star State.
