An Alvin, Texas choir teacher who touched countless students' lives was serenaded by her students one last time mere minutes before passing away last Wednesday.

Mariana Walker, who was 69 when she passed, taught music at Alvin Junior High for 17 years. Walker had been battling cancer for some time, and was released from hospice care on October 2nd after her cancer progressed.

Cindi Lee Cooper-Fields, the mother of one of Walker's students, asked her daughter, Denim, if she and other students would like to do something special for Walker.

12 minutes after her students' performance, Walker died.

Her choir students gathered again Tuesday, October 11 to sing at Walker's funeral service.
