Temple Police Release Videos of Attempted Car Burglaries

I don't know about you, but I lock my car doors, even if I'm just turning my back to pump gas. Sad to say, but I don't trust anyone, especially when it comes to a machine I invested so much money in.

Just check out these videos and tell me I'm being paranoid.

I'll never understand why anyone leaves their car running outside of a convenience store. Ugh.

Anyway, closer to home, Temple police are seeking information in two attempted car burglaries on the south side of town. They've released surveillance footage from both scenes, and are asking anyone who might recognize the suspects to contact them at (254) 298-5500.

The first incident happened last Thursday near Sandstone Drive. The footage shows two men running into frame. One of them heads in the opposite direction as the other jogs up to two cars parked in a driveway and tries the doors. The owners did the sensible thing and locked them, so the potential thief had no luck there.

The second incident happened Sunday night near Standford Drive. Video shows a guy casually walk into a family's driveway and try the door of a truck before walking away. A sedan then drives by and stops to pick the guy up.

Whatever you do, just make it a habit to check that everything's locked down before you go to bed. Don't make it easy for thieves.
