
Temple Mourns Loss of McLane Children’s President Dell Ingram-Walker
The city of Temple and all of Central Texas are mourning after learning that Dell Ingram-Walker, president of Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s, has passed away. According to a statement released by Baylor Scott & White Health, and as reported by KWTX, her passing has deeply impacted the community.

Who Was Dell Ingram-Walker?
Known for her dedication and passion, Ingram-Walker was also the first Black vice president and chief operating officer of McLane Children’s Medical Center. To know her was to respect and love her.
She accomplished so many incredible things for the community, including creating programs focused on family, fun, and food—such as the Health and Wellness initiative in 2015 in partnership with the city of Killeen. Many remember this program for how it brought the community together and taught families the importance of maintaining their health through fitness and cooking.
Farewell to President Dell Ingram-Walker
When someone like her leaves, it truly leaves a lasting mark on the community. Dell Ingram-Walker, your great deeds and your love for your career and community will never go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you did for Central Texas. To dedicate over two decades to a career and achieve such milestones—including becoming the first Black woman president of Baylor Scott & White—is truly inspiring. You will be remembered for who you were: a determined, loving, and kind woman, and most importantly, a champion.
You will be missed.
