The Temple Fire Department was busy on Friday morning dealing with a house fire.

According to a press release we received from Temple Asst. Fire Chief Johnathan Christian, Temple Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a possible structure fire with smoke in the area of Ave H and South 10th.

Initial units responding to the area found that the initial address was not correct and redirected additional fire units that were responding to the correct address of 520 S 10th Street.

First arriving units found a vacant and boarded up structure with the rear of the structure heavily involved with fire. Initial crews started a defensive fire attack and achieved a quick knock down that allowed them to then force entry into the structure and search for any possible occupants. The structure was cleared with no one being found inside the structure.

The fire was called under control at 9:40 AM and all units cleared the scene at 10:48 AM. There was no report of any injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
