Monday is off to a cloudy start, and our partners at News Channel 10 report that strong storms are possible later in the day.

According to meteorologist Sean Bellafiore, rain chances are expected to climb to near 80% this afternoon and tonight. Widely scattered showers are expected with storms possible. More severe storms are possible near US 190/I-14, though Sean says the severe weather risk is relatively low.

Strong storms could bring with them quarter-sized hail and powerful gusts of wind, so be sure to prepare your home and/or office and have an emergency plan in place.

In his morning forecast, Sean said an isolated tornado would not be out of the question, but again, the risk is currently low. Still, it never hurts to be prepared.
