Stokely Of Mint Condition Has Gone Solo, Talks New Song “She”
During the 90's, Mint Condition was considered one of the last true GREAT R&B BANDS left standing as they continued touring and working into the new millennium. But like all things in this world, change is inevitable, and the band's lead singer Stokely is ready to branch out and do his own thing.
Stokely Williams is a Grammy-nominated vocalist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who is one of music’s best-kept secrets. He has worked with some of the biggest names in music including Prince, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson and more.
While he's best known for his work with Mint Condition, he has been on the solo tip since 2017 when he released his debut album "Introducing Stokely" which produced two #1 R&B smash hits "Level" and "Organic".
Stokely believes its time for the world to see him in a new light as a solo artist as he prepares for the release of his upcoming album "Sankofa" which features the hot new single "She".
While everyone is worried about the pandemic, Melz On The MIC spoke with Stokely recently about his new single, his upcoming album and the legacy of the Minneapolis sound where he's from and the long list of legends from there including Prince, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
