Smoke Detector Safety Boosted by Killeen, Texas and Red Cross Collaboration
The American Red Cross and the Killeen Fire Department will be partnering to install free smoke detectors throughout neighborhoods starting on March 8. "Sound the Alarm, Save a Life" is the campaign for this event, and residents will be able to sign up for complimentary fire alarms at www.killeentexas.gov/fire.

Red Cross Teams Up with City to Provide Free Smoke Detectors to Residents
Alternatively, residents can call the American Red Cross at 210-582-1962. This will allow the fire department, community partners, and volunteers to assist residents with the installation of smoke detectors. The Fort Cavazos Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program will also be volunteering, and others who would like to help can visit www.soundthealarm.org or call 210-582-1962.
City Partners with Red Cross for Free Smoke Detector Program
Smoke detectors in the home are a must! It's all about keeping our residents safe. Many individuals don’t realize that every day at least seven people lose their lives in home fires, but a smoke detector can help prevent harm or death in the community. Let’s get ready to stay safe with our free smoke detectors, Killeen!
