Why Are Shoppers Upset with H-E-B Right Now?
Texas' favorite store, H-E-B, isn’t getting the usual praise. H-E-B has long been a beloved store in Texas, so when customer satisfaction dropped over the past year, it came as a surprise. According to a report by Chron, satisfaction rates dropped to 82, three points lower than last year. Now, it shares the same score as Whole Foods.

H-E-B Faces Criticism as Shoppers Share Negative Feedback
The survey, conducted over 12 months and ending in December, showed that only four grocers nationwide saw an increase in customer service satisfaction: Wegmans, Kroger, Ahold Delhaize, and Walmart. The study noted that customers expect retailers to provide value, especially with inflation still driving prices up, despite some slowing. While H-E-B remains a favorite in certain regions, its satisfaction points have dropped. It’s not the only store with an 82 score—Publix also earned the same score.
Shoppers’ Frustration Grows Over H-E-B's Service and Selection
In my personal opinion, nothing could make me stop shopping at H-E-B. It’s Texas' favorite store, hands down—especially now that they’ve made it more convenient with digital payment options. I’ll never leave that store. But the question remains: Will H-E-B lose customers?
