ORIGINAL STORY:
Tragic news hits the hip-hop home front. Geto Boys member Bushwick Bill has died, according to fellow group member Scarface.

Uncle Face broke the news to fans on Instagram on Sunday (June 9). Sharing a photo of himself and the Geto Boys' Willie D, Face captioned the pic, "RIP Bushwick Bill...."

Willie D also appeared to confirm the passing on Sunday via IG. He posted a series of photos with all three members along with the caption, "This is Geto Boys for life. #wecantbestopped #30yearsofControversy."

Texas rapper Bun B also offered his condolences on social media. "The last time I saw him. He was, is and will always be a legend," Bun captioned a photo of Bill. "God bless his soul and his family. There will never be another. RIP Bushwick Bill. Geto Boys."

The exact circumstances surrounding Bill's death are currently unknown, but the rapper recently revealed he was suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed in February 2019. "It was just crazy to find out that Pancreatic cancer isn't detected until it's in the fourth or fifth stage," Bushwick recently said in an interview. "I've been keeping it to myself but I'm getting ready to tell Scarface, Willie D and I've only told close family members."

The group announced they were going on a reunion tour in May, but had to cancel the jaunt, presumably due to Bill's health.

XXL has reached out to Bushwick Bill's manager for comment.
